Pen Pals

So, I'm not much of a writer but I wanted to share a little story...
Last weekend I got to go to Washington D.C. to be a bridesmaid in my friend Adrienne's wedding. After telling MANY people the way I know Adrienne, I got to thinking how truly unique our story is. It has always seemed normal to me but after saying it out loud so many times I realized it was more special then I had ever thought! I guess, I really just hadn't thought about it that much.
In sixth grade the girl I sat next to in class, who was a friend, said to me "Do you want to write to my cousin's friend?" And my response was, "Sure!" And that is how it all began. So for the past 16 years Adrienne and I have been good old pen pals! The best of the best! Once I received a letter I wrote back right away! She did the same. I have shoe boxes full of letters. I think it was in high school when we switched over to e-mail. Adrienne even admitted to printing out the emails for awhile to save them. We were so much alike in so many ways! It worked great living across the country from each other( me in San Diego and her in Virginia) because we could tell each other ANYTHING and EVERYTHING and neither one of us knew the people the other was talking about or would tell anyone!
She came out to San Diego for us to meet for the first time our junior year of high school. We had felt like we had known each other forever. I guess we sort of had! I went to her house that next summer. She then came out and surprised me for my high school graduation and then again that next summer! I had her as a bridesmaid in my wedding and then she came to Oklahoma when Gabe was a baby! We have gone through all of our live changing moments with each other and I can't imagine not having her in my life! I really is the most unique friendship because no matter how far apart we live or how many times we move we will always stay close because that is the only way we know how to! So, it was so great to go to D.C. and be in her wedding. I loved telling people our story because we were just meant to be in each others lives! Here are some pictures from the times we have spent together...
