Gabe has been really into learning about countries and states lately. So I decided to show off and I sang the states REALLY fast for him from the song "Fifty Nifty United States" (that I had learned in sixth grade). He was VERY impressed!! So for the past few weeks he has been working on learning all of the states. If you know Gabe, you know he becomes sort of obsessed with things. So I am proud to say that now Gabe, at 5 1/2, is a self-taught reader, animal expert, AND master of the 50 states!! I know I'm bragging a little but I thought I would share...
He's now moved on to pointing to the states as he sings them....

Future Olympian
Syd had her very 1st day of gymnastics yesterday. I must say it was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. They put her in the 3 yr old class (she wont be 3 till April) and so she was with 3 other bigger kids who had been doing gymnastics since they were like 18mo. old. I must say she held her own. She tried everything they were doing and did a great job! She kept looking over at me like she was so proud of herself!
The funniest part was the night before she was telling Aunt Boosh (Carrie) that she was going to gymnastics and she said in a real cocky voice... "You can see me on TV". Then when we pulled up to the gym she said "Is Shawn Johnson going to be here?". I guess she really did think she was going to be in the Olympics. Who knows??? Maybe someday!

San Diego Christmas (aka... too many pics)
We have had a wonderful Christmas here in San Diego with my Mom, Dad, brother and his wife. We hardly ever are all in the same place at once so it was great to spend this holiday together. Here are LOTS of pictures of our trip so far...
I got to hang out with my two closest friends here...Meg and Michelle...

Singing Christmas carols with Grammy...

Making a breakfast casserole

Making treats for Santa (and us!)...

Peeking under the door as I wrap presents...

Writing a letter to Santa and ALL of his reindeer...

Sydnee making her own personal M&M pie...

Posers...

Leaving Santa his treats...

Tracking Santa on the computer...

Gabe and his dog he got from Santa...

Syd with her doll from Santa. (With the help of a little brainwashing from Grammy, she ended up naming her Peggy!)

Gabe reading one of his new animal books with Uncle Andy...

Playing with her new tea set...

Gabe in his new coonskin hat...

Singing Christmas Carols to Carrie and Wes (in Brazil) over the webcam...

Family pic...
Sea World...
