She Did It...
Well, She went ahead and did it.... I asked her not to, but she did it anyway! My last BABY is ONE!!!!! How is that possible? I am not one to cry over birthdays but this one is different because this is the last first birthday we will have in our house! I still didn't cry though. I thought about it.

Almost a month later....
Since Annie is about to turn a year old, I realized I never blogged about Gabe's 8th birthday. Maybe Im in denial that my baby boy is 8 years old! Whatever it is, I really CAN NOT BELIEVE IT! I mean, I knew things were changing when he would wake up and before school he would turn on Sports Center or NBA TV instead of Franklin. I have to say, I do love the more independent, more self sufficient, non baby show watching kid he is now but it is still hard to see those bald headed, chubby cheeked baby pictures of him flash up on the computer screen slide-show!
I love this boy! He is a special one if I do say so myself. He is a smart, kind- hearted, competitive, thoughtful, loving, athletic, basketball loving little man!

Cubies
Well another baseball season came to an end! It is amazing how much progress these boys have made! They went from hitting off a tee to hitting off a pitching machine pitching 40mph back in the fall. It was a big, and tough, transition!
I was so proud of Gabe the last game. He got nailed in the chin playing second base fielding a hard ground ball. He got quite a bump/cut/bruise! He stayed in the game and got a hit and made another play after it happened!
I'm also proud of Gabe for being the competitor he is. As most people know, Gabe lives and breaths basketball. He is really good too, if I do say so myself. He has never been the best at balancing two different things. He gets stuck on something and sticks with JUST that! But he hung in there with baseball and really got better and started to really like it, especially the games! He didn't like loosing, that sort of bothered him, but he loved the competition! He always tried his best, ran his fastest, hustled and listened to his coaches. That's all we could ask for!!!
Don't get me wrong though, he still would come home after the games and take a few jump shots outside in his Cubs uniform!
Now on to basketball camps! One already down this summer and another one this week!
Syd and Annie ready to go to the last game in their Cubs shirts...

Oh and here is my little 10 day old Annie on the first day of school...
And now she is my angel faced, 2 toothed, crawling little 9 and a half month old who is ready for some fun!!!

Multi-Cultural Program
My mom (who taught music for 34 years) and the unbelievably talented Gena and Erick Alexander did an AWESOME Multi-Cultural Program for Gabe, Syd and Raegan's school today (for the 2nd year in a row)... It was so good I think they need to start a Elementary School tour!!! Seriously!!!
I love it also because I remember when I was in elementary school and my mom would come to do a program and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I love that my kids are getting to experience the same thing!!!
Today was EXTRA special because Syd (who is in Pre-K) got up in front of the whole school and played the ukulele and sang! I was so proud of her!!!
Gabe is the shy one but he wanted in on the action too and did a great job!!
My video camera messed up right when Raegan played her violin. She did so awesome I wish I had it on video.
Here are a couple more songs ( I wish I could post them all)...
My mom is in heaven with these two...she's ready to go on the road!
