A Week Ago Today...

...I turned the BIG 3.0. It's weird since I still feel 24ish...I know I have been married for 9 years and have 2 kids but I don't feel like I could be 30! Anyway, we went out to dinner with my mom and dad, who are in town, and Rachel for the big day and then Monday we left for MEXICO! As sad as it is Rob needs to leave the country to get completely away from his job. So for our 9Th Anniversary, my 30th birthday and for Rob's sanity, we got to go on our first vacation with out the kids...since our honeymoon! It was WONDERFUL!

My mom and dad and me at Mama Roja...
Me and my la-la Rachel...the sunset was beautiful!
The family...
My YUMMY cake...
EARLY Monday morning at the airport...goodbye reality...
...hello paradise! Look at the gorgeous water...
Relaxing by the pool...
Ready to go out to dinner...
The pool...I don't know what Rob is doing here...
Out for another dinner...
No, this is not a Corona commercial...this is actually me!
Our new friend...
For our anniversary they gave us a coupon for "Candelight dinner on the beach"
After doing NOTHING for 4 days we decided to go parasailing....there was a storm rolling in but they said it was fine...Check out those clouds....so instead of going along the coast line they just kept heading farther and farther out to avoid the storm.

Up in the air... Another new friend...
Last morning...
Ahhhh....paradise!

SOLD!

So the day after we left San Diego my parents put their house on the market. It sold in 6 DAYS!!! That is pretty much unheard of in California right now.
As EXCITED as I am to have them moving here it is bitter sweet....
It is weird to look at the house I grew up in, and still consider home, with a "for sale" sign in the front yard!

Weird that we wont be going there 3-4 times a year....that is medicine to me!
We have already agreed that we WILL go at least once a year all together. We cant live with out getting a dose of that fresh ocean air.
The things that are so great are the my parents will not miss out on all the little things now! I dont have to picture my mom alone on her birthday sitting at the table reading her cards over and over by herself! That is the most important part! Not me mention what a great financial move it is!
So over all we are THRILLED that they sold their house so fast and are going to be heading this way very soon!!! YEAH!!!!!

Last Day

I told you were were the ultimate tourist on this trip! On our last day we went on a harbor cruise on the north side of the San Diego Bay. I hadn't done that in YEARS! Downtown...
We saw a ton of sea lions out on these and in the water...Gabe and Sydnee thought that was the best part. My camera battery died or I would have had some more pictures.

Then we celebrated my dad's b-day....here he is in his new hat....ready for the padre game.

Beautiful Petco Park...

Pads actually won!

This is Gabe reading to Syd in the airport while we were waiting to head home...so cute. She had her arm around him!
WE HAD THE BEST TRIP....

Fun With Friends

We have had fun with lots of friends here in San Diego... Here are Gabe and Sydnee with my best friend's little boy Nate... Then after Rob left and we made our little trip to Bakersfield my Sara got to come out for 3 days. We fit a lot into those 3 days...Here's me with my Oklahoma bff and my San Diego bff....So fun.

While we are out to dinner, my kids were at the zoo with my mom and dad. They have season passes here too so they ALWAYS have to go every time we are here...this is the first time they have been at night though...pretty cool.

Me and Sara eating Rubios....YUM!
shopping...

Coronado beach...

Coronado...
Sara and Syd...ready for our girls night.

We had a mother/daughter girls night with some of my childhood friends...we try to do this once a year or so but it had been awhile... This is one of the mom's backyard. It is gorgeous and she is the BEST hostess...
Sara, Kelly, Me, Syd(she was out), Christine and Bridget
Then on Sara's last full day we hit up Sea World. We went at Christmas and when we bought a ticket we got a year pass (some special they were running) so we had to take advantage of it...

We have been able to do so much this trip...I love it. We are like the ultimate San Diego tourists... even though we aren't really. So much fun...Only a couple days left!!!
