Last Day

I told you were were the ultimate tourist on this trip! On our last day we went on a harbor cruise on the north side of the San Diego Bay. I hadn't done that in YEARS! Downtown...
We saw a ton of sea lions out on these and in the water...Gabe and Sydnee thought that was the best part. My camera battery died or I would have had some more pictures.

Then we celebrated my dad's b-day....here he is in his new hat....ready for the padre game.

Beautiful Petco Park...

Pads actually won!

This is Gabe reading to Syd in the airport while we were waiting to head home...so cute. She had her arm around him!

Fun With Friends

We have had fun with lots of friends here in San Diego... Here are Gabe and Sydnee with my best friend's little boy Nate... Then after Rob left and we made our little trip to Bakersfield my Sara got to come out for 3 days. We fit a lot into those 3 days...Here's me with my Oklahoma bff and my San Diego bff....So fun.

While we are out to dinner, my kids were at the zoo with my mom and dad. They have season passes here too so they ALWAYS have to go every time we are here...this is the first time they have been at night though...pretty cool.

Me and Sara eating Rubios....YUM!

Sara and Syd...ready for our girls night.

We had a mother/daughter girls night with some of my childhood friends...we try to do this once a year or so but it had been awhile... This is one of the mom's backyard. It is gorgeous and she is the BEST hostess...
Sara, Kelly, Me, Syd(she was out), Christine and Bridget
Then on Sara's last full day we hit up Sea World. We went at Christmas and when we bought a ticket we got a year pass (some special they were running) so we had to take advantage of it...

We have been able to do so much this trip...I love it. We are like the ultimate San Diego tourists... even though we aren't really. So much fun...Only a couple days left!!!

Up the Grapevine...

My mom grew up in Bakersfield, CA. Her sister still lives there and so do my cousins. I haven't been there in 3 years! We used to go ALL the time. Lately they have always come down to San Diego when we were in town so we thought we would make a little over night trip up there to see my Aunt and Uncle and cousins and their kids. The kids had a blast playing with them! I can't believe how old everyone is. Three of them were in my wedding as the ring bearers and flower girl when they were 3, 5 & 6 and now they are 12, 14 and 15!!! AHHHHHH, I guess I am getting old.

Syd and Lexi...
All the kiddos...Madison, Syd, Lexi, Gabe, AJ & Luke
Mom, my cousin Natalie, Me, My cousin April and my Aunt Judy! Yes, Natalie has a 14 & 15 year old and is expecting! Talk about starting over again!
The next day we went to put flowers on my Grandma May's grave. She died when I was pregnant with Gabe. She would have LOVED Gabe and Syd. She was sooooo much fun! We named Gabe after her...Gabe Maysen...since she died a few months before he was born. I am named after her too. Katie May! WE MISS HER!

Tea Parties & Retirement Parties...

My mom had a gift certificate at this tea place so she wanted to use it with Sydnee in town! Syd can be a girly girl sometimes and a brute other times but she got SO into this tea stuff... it was adorable! At one point I asked her to pour a little cream in my tea and she responded in a really dainty voice "I would love to".

That night we took my mom and dad out to dinner at Jake's Del Mar to celebrate my mom retiring after 33 years of teaching. We took A LOT of pictures before out in front of the restaurant.

Then...the next night we went to a retirement party that the staff from her school put on. My mom's sister came down from Bakersfield to come help celebrate...
Here are the girls...

The kids at the party...
