What a Weekend!

To start things off Rob and I headed down to Dallas Friday night to go the Rangers/Padres game in Arlington with our friends Will and Emily.
Plus side...seeing the Padres 3 rows behind home plate.
Minus side...seeing the Padres get KILLED in 102 degree weather! We still had a blast!

Rob and Will...

Me and Emily...

Us after the game...see how close we were? Sorry if you cant tell due to the reflections off our sweaty foreheads!

We even got to watch fireworks! Highlight was seeing Josh Hamilton (who was on the DL unfortunately) come out with is wife and little girls to sit on the grass to watch too!
Then Saturday the great Uncle Dave and wonderful Aunt Rachel were kind enough to deliver our kids to us so we could meet up with our friends from college (and their 4 kiddos) to hit up the Great Wolf Lodge...and it is GREAT!

Here are Gabe, Dawson, Pearson and Gibson ready to go!

Syd thought she was really cool on this thing hitting the unsuspecting victim!

Rob and Kevin... waiting on everyone for dinner.

Gabe got a surprise sundae after dinner to start up the birthday celebration (his b-day is Tues).

After "story-time" at the lodge the kids got to take pictures with the wolf, Wiley.

Group pic...we forgot to do this last time we were together.

Pearson (1), Jaxon (9 1/2), Gibson(7 1/2), Sydnee(3), Gabe(6 on Tues.), Dawson (6)

Sydnee having a little too much fun with the "Hearne boys" (as she called them)...

Ready for bed...yeah right! It was a late night!

Ready bright and early for day 2 of water park FUN!

That is little head is Sydnee going down one of the kiddy slides...

Gabe found his new passion....jumping down the row of lily pads. He honestly did these about 75 times over the 2 days!

Another pic of the kids...

After this, we even got to meet up with Rob's cousin Sam, his wife and their triplets for lunch. I'm so mad I forgot to take a picture as proof!
It was a very productive and FUN weekend! When the Hearnes were visiting us in Feb. we talked about doing this. I am just so glad we did it and everything worked out that we were able to meet up. Everyone had a BLAST! It is so fun to be able to make such fun memories with life-long friends!

5 minutes after getting in the car to head home....Gotta love it!

"Girls" Day

Saturday Sydnee and I had a little "girls" day because Rob took Gabe up to some land to go exploring (BB gun in tow)...Rob just sent this to me from his phone...

We went to the nail place and I got a manicure and Sydnee got her fingernails and toenails painted. I let her pick out her colors and she decided on bright blue for her fingers and bright green for her toes...weird! Strange choice for a girl who's favorite colors are pink and purple but if anyone can pull that off it is her. She did so good sitting still. I think she was mostly mesmerized listening to the ladies speak Vietnamese. That worked in our favor...

Tenkiller

Well, even though Carrie and Wes are in Brazil...the Gotchers(Wes's parents) were still nice enough to invite us on our yearly lake trip. They have a wonderful place at Lake Tenkiller! It wasn't the same with out Carrie and Wes but we still had a blast!!!

The kids with Deryl and Cathy.

Rob has always had a thing for turtles...the highlight of the trip, according to him and Gabe, was catching 2 new pets. They are a baby Red-Eared Slider and a baby Map Turtle. They made it home in Granddad's cooler and have found a new home in the play room!

Another last...

Gabe wrapped up his first t-ball season last night. He really loved playing. Thanks to his patient, patient, patient....did I mention patient coaches who were so good with the boys!

Syd was so proud of her big brother!

Gabe and Kason

Gabe with Coach Lance and Coach Josh..those patient guys I was talking about!

This should be a poster...

Last Day...

Gabe had his last day of pre-k today... I can't believe it. For those that gave us a hard time for not putting him in kindergarten this past year....I am so glad we didn't listen to you. The thought of him being a 1st grader in the fall makes me squirm. I'm much more comfortable with him starting kindergarten now...
Sydnee on the other hand, thinks she is ready for pre-k tomorrow!

For the Love of Wristbands

Notice anything in these pictures...

Several people ask me why Gabe wears wristbands...all the time. By all the time, I mean to school, tball, bed, church, with clothes, without clothes, even accidentally in the shower a couple of times. Well all I have to say in response is.....

It's in the blood!!!!
If it is possible for the love of wristbands to be genetically passed, IT HAS!

For Rob's 30th birthday I had wristbands made with the #30 put on them for everyone to wear.(Since he was obviously obsessed with them as a child). Well, they were a hit with everyone ESPECIALLY with Gabe. He slept in them that night...

Ever since then (a year and a half ago) Gabe has worn a wristband pretty much every day. When Aunt Boosh and Uncle Carl (aka: Carrie and Wes) moved to Brazil they sent Gabe some wristbands with the Brazilian flag on them. He has worn them religiously since then.(As seen in the above pictures)

I wonder if they can detect that sort of thing in genetic testing?

She's Got "Every-sing"

So one night out of the blue Sydnee requested for me to sing Little Mermaid to her at bed time. She has NEVER even watched it...she is scared of "witch". She said her babysitter sang it to her one night....so since it is my favorite Disney movie I busted out the first part of "Part of Your World". I think I left out a few parts but it had been awhile! Anyway, Syd has had me sing that every night since then (about 3 weeks or so ago). So I was impressed when she was singing along with me and so I asked her to sing it by herself....
